What Career Am I Interested By?

If I could get the chance to pursue one career, it would have to be a Trauma Surgeon. I have always dreamed of becoming a doctor as a little girl, so I want to make my dreams come true. I will become the greatest Trauma Surgeon out there!

A Trauma Surgeon focuses on trauma surgery which is a surgical specialty that utilizes both operative and non-operative management to treat traumatic injuries, typically in an acute setting. In simple terms, Trauma Surgeons are surgeons that treat trauatmic situations in a fast, small place.

What Eduation is Required to Become a Trauma Surgeon?

To become a doctor, it requires a lot of steps and studying to accomplish it.
For example:

  1. First, You must attend a 4-year institution to receive a Bachelors of any science-based discipline
  2. Next, *optional* you can further your education by getting a Masters in your specific field
  3. Then, you must complete a doctor of medicine (MD) program which includes 2 years of clincial practice
  4. After, you must enter into a medical residency program in any hospital that offers it. You must secure a spot in general surgey so you can witness a variety of surgical procedures; This would take about 4-5 years to complete
  5. Lastly, you must complete a 1-2 year fellowship program. During this time, you can start focus on your speciality

As technology envolves, so does the face of medicine.
